The Marconi 1HAM60672AAV is the power line termination unit for the SMA4 and SMA16 shelves in Marconi’s Synchronous Multiplexer Access range. The LTU is where the shelf takes its feed from the exchange DC plant: it terminates the incoming supply, provides the fusing and filtering, and distributes onto the shelf backplane, which is why it is fitted in duplicate on nodes taking A and B feeds. Because it sits between the battery plant and everything else in the shelf it is a card worth holding as a spare, since a failure on the feed side can take a node out even though the traffic cards themselves are sound. The 1HAM prefix places it in the same Marconi part-numbering family as the rest of the SMA shelf hardware.
