The Motorola AP-0650-66030-WW is an AP650 wireless access point, a dual radio 802.11n unit covering both the 2.4 GHz ISM band and the 5 GHz UNII bands. It was built for Motorola’s centrally managed wireless LANs, working with an RF switch or WiNG controller that holds the configuration and pushes firmware down to the access point. Later firmware releases also allowed it to run in an adaptive mode, where the same hardware operates independently and is adopted by a controller when one becomes reachable.

The WW ending is the worldwide regulatory build. AP650s were deployed heavily in warehousing, retail and manufacturing, often across the same estates that ran Symbol barcode terminals. The line has changed hands more than once: Symbol to Motorola in 2007, on to Zebra in 2014, and the wireless LAN business to Extreme Networks in 2016, which is where current firmware and documentation now sit.
