The Motorola 555461-001 is a TX32 downstream module for the BSR 64000 cable modem termination system. It provides 32 downstream DOCSIS 3.0 channels across eight physical downstream ports, and is the decoupled downstream card that let operators scale downstream capacity in a BSR 64000 head end independently of the upstream side.

Decoupling the two directions was the point of the design. An operator adding bonded downstream channels for higher speed tiers could do so without touching the upstream cards or rebuilding the node, and the card drops into an existing BSR 64000 chassis, which is why it was widely used for in place DOCSIS 3.0 upgrades rather than forklift replacements. Motorola’s cable head end business went to ARRIS in 2013 and the platform continued under that name. Supplied refurbished, with the chassis and software release checked against your head end first.
