The Netgear FS524 is an unmanaged 24-port 10/100 Fast Ethernet switch designed for plug-and-play installation on small and medium-sized networks. Every port auto-negotiates speed and duplex and supports Netgear’s Auto Uplink (Auto MDI/MDI-X) technology, so any port can connect to a PC, switch or hub without needing a crossover cable.
The switch delivers a 100 Mbps forward rate of roughly 148,000 packets per second per port and up to 200 Mbps of throughput per port in full-duplex mode, all within a compact rack-mountable 13-inch chassis drawing around 24W. It complies with IEEE 802.3i 10BASE-T and 802.3u 100BASE-TX standards and requires no configuration or software.
