The RAD FOM-E1-T1 is a fiber optic modem built specifically for E1 and T1 circuits. It converts the E1/T1 electrical signal to optical for transmission over fiber, extending the reach of an E1 or T1 circuit by up to 100 km without the signal degradation copper would introduce over that distance.
It supports single-mode or multimode fiber using 850/1300nm LED or 1300/1550nm laser optics. On the E1 side it offers a 75-ohm unbalanced (BNC) or 120-ohm balanced (15-pin D-type) interface, while the T1 side uses a 100-ohm balanced interface. It includes ITU V.54-compliant local and remote loopback, switchable from the front panel for fast circuit diagnostics.
