The Marconi 1HAT60824AAJ is a multiplex interface card for Marconi’s SMA range of SDH add/drop multiplexers. It provides the interconnect between the shelf’s multiplexing stage and the surrounding tributary or aggregate cards.

Marconi’s SMA family, inherited from GPT and Plessey, is a subrack of plug-in units: line termination units, mapping cards, multiplex interfaces such as this one, optical STM interfaces, a system controller, alarm cards and power feeds. Marconi’s 2006 collapse ended factory support, so every SMA site still in service is maintained from secondary-market spares.
