The Marconi 1HAM60797AAT is a single-port 45 Mbit/s unbalanced line termination unit, marked LTU45, for Marconi’s SMA range of SDH add/drop multiplexers. It presents one DS3-rate PDH tributary circuit into the shelf on unbalanced 75 ohm coaxial cabling, the single-port variant of the multi-port 45 Mbit/s LTU cards found elsewhere in the same 1HAM part-number block.

Marconi’s SMA family, inherited from GPT and Plessey, is a subrack of plug-in units: line termination units at 2, 34, 45 and 140/155 Mbit/s, optical STM-1 and STM-16 interfaces, a system controller, alarm cards and power feeds. Marconi’s 2006 collapse ended factory support, so every SMA site still in service is maintained from secondary-market spares.
