The Cisco WS-C6K-VTT is a voltage termination (VTT) module for the standard (non-E-series) Catalyst 6500 chassis backplane, providing the bus termination and regulated voltage rails the chassis needs to power its supervisor and line cards correctly. It is a spare/replacement board rather than an active switching component, but the chassis will not run reliably without a functioning VTT.

This standard-chassis VTT is specific to the original (non-E) Catalyst 6500 backplane and is not interchangeable with the WS-C6K-VTT-E used in the enhanced E-series chassis. Standard Catalyst 6500 chassis remain in service in older campus and data-centre installations, and a VTT is an infrequent but critical spare when a chassis shows backplane power or termination faults. Confirm chassis generation before ordering.
