Like the MSM-48c (part 41213), the MSM-G8X handles control-plane and switch-fabric duties for an 8800 chassis, but its I/O complement is eight unpopulated Gigabit mini-GBIC ports rather than the 48c’s single optional port, giving the management card its own bank of fibre or copper Gigabit uplinks directly.
