The Symbol WSAP-5110-100-WWR is an AP 300 access port, the dual radio 802.11a/b/g unit that works with Symbol’s wireless switches rather than as a standalone access point. It carries one 802.11a radio and one 802.11b/g radio with dual diversity antennas, serving clients at up to 54 Mbit/s across the 2.4 GHz ISM band and the 5 GHz UNII bands at the same time.

Being a thin access port it holds no local configuration. The Symbol wireless switch discovers it on the network and pushes both the settings and the firmware down to it, so a replacement unit needs no manual set up before it joins the WLAN. The WWR ending is the rest of world regulatory build. Symbol’s wireless LAN line passed to Motorola in 2007, then to Zebra in 2014, and reached Extreme Networks in 2016, so units in the field may carry any of those badges. Refurbished.
