The 3Com 3C17711 is a 4-port 1000BASE-T expansion module for the SuperStack 3 Switch 4900 chassis, adding four copper Gigabit RJ-45 ports with Auto-MDIX so standard patch cables can be used for uplinks, server connections or inter-switch links.

The module is hot-swappable, letting engineers add or replace Gigabit capacity on a running 4900 chassis without downtime, and it operates within the same 0 to 40 degrees C environmental envelope as the rest of the Switch 4900 family, making it suitable for standard comms room deployment.
