The Cisco WS-C1924C-EN is a Catalyst 1900 Series fixed-configuration switch, Enterprise Edition, with 24 10BaseT ports plus one 100BaseTX and one 100BaseFX Fast Ethernet uplink port. The dual-media uplink gave the original installer a choice of copper or fibre for the backbone connection without needing an external transceiver, useful where the wiring closet’s fibre and copper backbone options varied by building or floor. As with the rest of the Catalyst 1900 Enterprise Edition range, it adds ISL VLAN trunking, CGMP and extended SNMP/RMON management over the Standard firmware image. It remains a working spare for legacy Catalyst 1900 deployments and lab/training environments still running this hardware generation.
