The Cisco WS-C1924-A is a Catalyst 1900 Series fixed-configuration switch with 24 10BaseT ports and two 100BaseTX Fast Ethernet uplink ports, running the Standard (non-Enterprise) firmware image. Unlike the -EN Enterprise Edition variants, the Standard image does not support ISL VLAN trunking or CGMP, making the 1924-A better suited to a flat, single-VLAN 10 Mbps segment than a switched multi-VLAN environment. It shares the same physical port configuration as the WS-C1924-EN, so the choice between the two comes down to whether VLAN trunking is needed on the deployment. It remains a working spare for legacy Catalyst 1900 deployments and lab/training environments. Confirm which firmware image (Standard or Enterprise) your deployment requires before ordering, since the two are not interchangeable without a firmware change where that is even supported.
