D-Link DES-1526 desktop / managed switching Datacentre Switch

The D-Link DES-1526 is a 24-port 10/100Mbps web-smart switch with Power over Ethernet and two combo 1000Base-T uplink ports. PoE on the twenty-four Fast Ethernet ports lets it power IP telephones, wireless access points and IP cameras over their data cabling, removing the need for local mains at each device, which is the main reason this class of switch is specified in voice and CCTV installations. Web-smart management sits between unmanaged and fully managed: it offers VLANs, port-based QoS, link aggregation, port mirroring and bandwidth control through a browser interface, without a full command line. The two combo Gigabit ports provide the uplink to the distribution layer and can be used as copper or fibre depending on whether an SFP is fitted. Total PoE budget is shared across the ports, so per-device power draw needs checking when planning a full load.
