D-Link DES-1016D desktop / managed switching Datacentre Switch

The D-Link DES-1016D is a sixteen-port 10/100Mbps NWay unmanaged switch in a desktop and rack-mountable steel housing. NWay is D-Link’s term for auto-negotiation: each port independently settles on the highest speed and duplex the attached device supports, and auto MDI/MDI-X removes any need for crossover cables. The unit is unmanaged, so it forwards on learned MAC addresses with no setup and presents no configuration interface. Sixteen ports in a half-width chassis made it a common choice for a small office or a single wiring point that had outgrown an eight-port unit but did not warrant a managed switch. Store-and-forward switching with full duplex on all ports gives each device its own collision domain and the full port rate. Power comes from an external adapter on this model.
