The Emulex LPe11002 is a dual port 4 Gbit/s Fibre Channel host bus adapter on PCI Express, from the LightPulse LPe11000 series. It provides two independent optical ports from one slot, each negotiating at 4, 2 or 1 Gbit/s, which is the usual way of giving a server two fabric paths where expansion slots are scarce.

Both ports share the PCI Express interface, so a card of this type is specified for path redundancy first and aggregate throughput second. It shares its driver with the single port LPe11000 and with the PCI-X LP11000 family, so replacing any of them with another is normally a hardware change alone. Where the storage is an EMC array, check whether the E suffixed firmware variant is required. Confirm the bracket height you need, as these were shipped in both full height and low profile forms.
