The Marconi PWSP0079-000 is an AC power supply module for the Marconi (Ericsson-Marconi) ESR-5000 routing switch chassis, one of up to three AC feeds a fully populated ESR-5000 can carry for N+1 supply redundancy. It slots into the chassis power bay alongside the Series II Supervisor card and the platform’s port modules, and is interchangeable with the same-family PWSP0078 supply used in the larger ESR-6000 chassis. Marconi’s ESR-5000/6000 Series II platform, sold under the Ericsson-Marconi brand, remains deployed at sites that have not migrated off it, and a power supply is one of the few field-replaceable parts likely to fail ahead of the chassis itself, particularly where a site is not running the full redundant complement.
