The Marconi 1HAT60692ASB is an STM-1 optical interface card, S1.1 short-haul class at 1310nm on FC/PC connectors, for Marconi’s SMA range of SDH add/drop multiplexers. It carries a 155 Mbit/s optical circuit into the shelf, the S1.1 marking confirming the ITU-T short-haul optical class rather than the longer-reach L1.1 variant.

Marconi’s SMA family, inherited from GPT and Plessey, is a subrack of plug-in units: line termination units at the PDH rates, optical STM-1 and STM-16 interfaces such as this one, a system controller, alarm cards and power feeds. Marconi’s 2006 collapse ended factory support, so every SMA site still in service is maintained from secondary-market spares.
