The HP 409513-B22 is a 4Gb Virtual Connect Fibre Channel module for HP’s BladeSystem c-Class enclosures, the interconnect bay module that gives blade servers Fibre Channel SAN connectivity through Virtual Connect’s virtualised WWN addressing, so a blade’s Fibre Channel identity can be assigned and moved independently of its physical HBA the same way Virtual Connect does for Ethernet MAC addresses. It runs at 4Gb Fibre Channel speed, matching the FC HBA mezzanine generation it was designed alongside, and fits the same c7000/c3000 interconnect bays as the Ethernet Virtual Connect modules. Sites running Virtual Connect for their SAN fabric use a spare module like this to restore fabric redundancy after a failure or to add FC connectivity to an additional interconnect bay.
