The HP 399593-B22 is a Virtual Connect 1/10Gb Ethernet module for HP’s BladeSystem c7000 and c3000 enclosures, an interconnect bay module that provides the 10Gb uplink and Flex-10-style network virtualisation Virtual Connect uses to abstract each blade’s network identity from the physical upstream switching. It fits both the larger 8U c7000 enclosure and the smaller 6U c3000 enclosure aimed at branch-office or smaller-footprint deployments, giving sites running either enclosure size the same Virtual Connect networking capability. A spare or replacement module of this kind lets a site restore interconnect redundancy after a module failure, or add Virtual Connect networking to a bay that previously held a pass-through or different-vendor module.
