The Emulex LPe1150-E is a single port 4 Gbit/s Fibre Channel host bus adapter from the LightPulse range, on a PCI Express interface. It negotiates at 4, 2 or 1 Gbit/s, so it will attach to older fabric switches as well as 4 Gbit/s ones.

The E ending marks it as the EMC variant, carrying EMC qualified firmware and identifying itself to an EMC array and to PowerPath as a supported adapter. That matters because EMC arrays and their multipathing software check the adapter and firmware combination rather than accepting any card that presents a Fibre Channel port. A standard LPe1150 is the same hardware without that firmware. Single port cards are the usual fit where a server has enough slots to take two separate adapters for path redundancy instead of relying on two ports of one card. Refurbished.
