The 3Com 3C17527 is a Switch 8800 2-Port 10GBASE-X Advanced expansion module, using XFP (10 Gigabit Small Form Factor Pluggable) optical connectors. It fits the Switch 8800 chassis family, which supports up to 576 Gigabit or 48 10-Gigabit Ethernet ports across the range, and adds two 10-Gigabit ports per module for core or distribution links.
