The Enterasys 10GBASE-SR-XFP is a hot-swappable 10 Gigabit Ethernet optical transceiver in the XFP form factor, built to IEEE 802.3ae 10GBASE-SR specifications. It transmits at an 850nm wavelength over multimode fibre through a duplex LC connector, supporting link lengths of up to 300 metres on 50 micron OM3-grade fibre.

As an XFP module it is hot-pluggable and compatible with Enterasys’s C-Series, G-Series, N-Series and X-Series switching platforms, giving network engineers a straightforward way to add short-reach 10 Gigabit uplinks without replacing chassis hardware. Digital diagnostic monitoring (DDM) is supported, allowing real-time visibility of transmit/receive power, temperature and bias current.
