48 port 10/100/1000 Layer 2 SecureStack B2 switch with four mini-GBIC uplink slots, stackable.

The Enterasys B2G124-48 is a 48 port Gigabit Ethernet access switch from the SecureStack B2 range, providing 48 auto sensing 10/100/1000 copper ports for desktop and edge connectivity. Four mini-GBIC slots take SFP optics for fibre uplinks, so the switch can be sited away from the comms room and brought back over fibre where copper distance limits would not reach.

The B2 range is a Layer 2 platform with static routing rather than a full routing switch, and units stack so that several switches are managed as one logical device. It was sold for wiring closet duty where port density mattered more than Layer 3 features. Ownership ran from Cabletron Systems to Enterasys in 2001 and then to Extreme Networks, which bought Enterasys in 2013. Tech-Star supplies from UK stock with worldwide despatch.
