The Enterasys XP-2-SX-AA is a two port 1000BASE-SX gigabit expansion module for the X-Pedition 2400 routing switch.

1000BASE-SX is the shortwave multimode standard at 850nm, so this is the module for gigabit uplinks inside a building or between nearby buildings on multimode fibre rather than a long campus run. The X-Pedition 2400 is the fixed configuration member of the range, a 16 port 10/100 routing switch with expansion slots, and modules like this one are how its uplink capacity was matched to the site. Its stablemate the XP-2-FX-AA covers 100BASE-FX on MT-RJ instead.

The X-Pedition family began as the Cabletron SmartSwitch Router, was renamed under Enterasys Networks in 2001 and moved to Extreme Networks in 2013.
