The Enterasys 7G-6MGBIC-A is a 6-port Network Expansion Module (NEM) providing 1000Base-X connectivity via mini-GBIC (SFP) connectors, designed as the optional expansion slot module for DFE chassis blades such as the 7G4282-41 and 7G4280-19.

Fitting the NEM slot on a compatible Platinum or Gold DFE module, it adds six additional gigabit fibre uplink ports without needing a separate chassis slot, letting a single DFE blade serve both fixed access ports and flexible fibre uplinks from its own module.
