The Extreme Networks 16112 is an XGM2-2XF option card, a two-port 10 Gigabit XFP expansion card for the Summit X350, X450e and X450a switch families. Both XFP cages ship unpopulated, so the matching 10GBASE XFP optics are needed separately to bring either port into service. Fitting one gives a Summit X350/X450e/X450a switch a pair of 10 Gigabit uplinks for stacking to a core switch or for a high-bandwidth server connection, without needing a chassis-based platform.
