The HP J9780A is an HP 2530-8-PoE+, an 8-port smart-managed switch from HP’s 2530 series offering six 10/100 PoE+ ports plus two combination Gigabit/SFP uplink ports, aimed at small branch or wiring-closet deployments needing to power a handful of PoE+ devices such as access points or IP phones. The 2530 series sits between HP’s fully unmanaged value switches and its enterprise-class 2900/3800 lines, giving basic VLAN, QoS and monitoring features through a web interface without the cost or complexity of a full enterprise-managed switch. Its compact 8-port form factor makes it a common choice for small remote sites or as a local PoE injector switch feeding a handful of endpoints from a larger core.
