The IBM 80P6700 is a system backplane for pluggable processor cards on the IBM eServer p5/OpenPower 550 (machine type 9113-550), part of a board family our own trade documentation refers to internally by the codename Solace. It forms the core of the 9113-550’s system unit, providing the sockets the processor DCM cards, memory risers and I/O connections plug into, and is closely related to the IBM 80P6381 and 80P5530 backplanes elsewhere in our range, which share the same 28EC CCIN family.

The p550/9113-550 remains in service in a number of established Unix/AIX and OpenPower Linux environments, and a genuine backplane is a significant repair for restoring a system after a backplane-level fault, distinct from a simple processor or memory swap.
