The Marconi 131-7286/02 is a type 2 switch matrix timing distributor for Marconi’s MSH digital cross-connects, part of Marconi’s MSH family of SDH systems. It distributes the shelf’s synchronisation reference across the matrix cards, keeping every stage of the switch fabric locked to the same timing source, with the type marking reflecting the matrix generation it is built for.

The MSH range (MSH64C, MSH80, MSH84 and MSH86 among the variants) is built around a switching matrix surrounded by tributary and aggregate interface cards, and timing distribution such as this card provides is fundamental to correct SDH cross-connection. Marconi’s 2006 collapse ended factory support, so the installed base is maintained from secondary-market spares.
