VSX series table microphone pod, supplied without cable.

The Polycom 2201-20250-002 is a table microphone pod for the VSX range of video conferencing systems, supplied as the pod alone without its cable. The VSX codec relies on a pod of this kind for room audio, so it is a functional part of the system rather than an optional extra: the array picks up the table and feeds the codec, which applies its own echo cancellation so the far end is not heard back through the room speakers.

A mute control sits on the top face with an indicator visible around the room. Because this listing is the pod on its own, the connecting cable has to be sourced with it if one is not already on site, and cable length varies by installation. Related 2201 20250 suffixes cover pods supplied complete with cable. The Polycom name passed to Plantronics in 2018, then to Poly, and on to Hewlett Packard in 2022. Available from Tech-Star, UK based with worldwide despatch.
