The Polycom 2201-16000-601 is a SoundStation2 conference phone with the backlit display fitted. The display is the practical difference between the two SoundStation2 variants: it shows dialled digits, call timer and caller line identity where the non display model gives only indicator lights, which matters when a chairperson is working through a dial list rather than answering.

Audio is otherwise the same, with three microphones giving roughly a three metre pickup radius and full duplex operation so neither end is cut off mid sentence. It runs on an ordinary analogue line or an analogue PBX extension. A 2201 prefix denotes the console rather than the complete retail kit.
