CX5000 panoramic 360 degree video conferencing unit, formerly the Microsoft RoundTable.

The Polycom CX5000 is a 360 degree video conferencing device for Microsoft Office Communications Server and Lync, originally sold by Microsoft as the RoundTable and also carried under part number X811890-002. A ring of five cameras in the head of the unit is stitched into a single panoramic strip of the whole table, while a six microphone array works out who is speaking and switches an inset window to that person.

The result is that a remote participant sees both the room as a whole and the active speaker without anyone operating a camera. It connects to a PC by USB and depends on the Microsoft conferencing client for call control rather than working as a standalone codec. Polycom merged with Plantronics in 2018, traded as Poly from 2019, and Hewlett Packard bought the business in 2022. Tech-Star is UK based and ships worldwide.
