CX600 full featured Microsoft Lync IP desk phone with dual port Ethernet switch and PoE.

The Polycom CX600 is a desktop IP telephone optimised for Microsoft Lync, sold as the full featured handset in the CX range. It signs in against the Lync directory and presents presence, contact search and calendar entries on its own display, so a user can dial a colleague by name from the phone without touching the PC client.

A dual port Ethernet switch lets a desktop computer share the same wall port, and the phone takes power over Ethernet. It runs Microsoft Lync Phone Edition firmware rather than SIP, which ties it to that platform and means it will not register to a generic SIP PBX. Lync has since given way to Skype for Business and Teams, so these handsets are now bought mainly to keep existing estates running. The Polycom name passed to Plantronics in 2018, then to Poly, and finally to Hewlett Packard in 2022. Tech-Star holds this line in the UK and ships internationally.
