Netgear GS724T: ProSafe 24-port 10/100/1000 gigabit rackmount smart switch.

The Netgear GS724T is a ProSafe 24 port gigabit smart switch in a 1U rackmount case, with every port running 10/100/1000 and a group of them shared with SFP slots for fibre uplinks.

Smart switch management is the middle tier of Netgear’s range: browser configured VLANs, quality of service, static link aggregation, port mirroring, rate limiting, IGMP snooping and basic access control, without the command line and routing of the fully managed models. For most offices that is the entire requirement.

The GS724T went through several hardware revisions across a long production life and firmware is specific to each, so check the version on the label before applying an image. Its 48 port equivalent is the GS748T.
