Enterasys 7G4285-49, a DFE Platinum 48-port PoE Gigabit module for Matrix chassis.

The Enterasys 7G4285-49 is a Platinum series DFE module with 48 fixed 10/100/1000Base-T RJ-45 ports, all PoE-compliant, for use in a Matrix E7, N7, N5 or N3 chassis. The module receives power and backplane connectivity directly from the host chassis it is installed in.

When installed in a Matrix N5 chassis, the ports can supply Power over Ethernet directly to connected devices; in an E7, N3 or N7 chassis, PoE requires an optional external Enterasys Matrix N-PoE Power System connected via the module’s 48Vdc front-panel power connector. This makes the 7G4285-49 a flexible high-density line card for powering IP phones, access points and other devices at the network edge.
