The Enterasys 7G4202-30 is a Platinum series Distributed Forwarding Engine (DFE) module with 30 fixed 10/100/1000Base-TX RJ-45 ports. It installs into a Matrix E7 or Matrix N-Series chassis and is built around Enterasys’s nTERA switching ASICs for high-performance edge and distribution switching.

The module ships with 128 MB of RAM (expandable to 256 MB) and 32 MB of flash (expandable to 64 MB), and supports a 64,000-entry MAC address table. It offers full Layer 2/3 switching and routing along with QoS, security and traffic containment features, and can be managed via SNMP, Telnet, HTTP and SSH.
