The Comtech DR-4510 is a Ku-band satellite downconverter from Comtech’s DR-4500 series, converting an incoming signal across the 10.95-12.80GHz Ku-band downlink range down to a standard IF output for a satellite modem or receiver. It is specified for low phase noise performance, making it suitable for high order modulation and high data rate carriers where local oscillator noise directly limits demodulator performance. Designed for rack mounting in the receive RF chain of a satellite earth station or teleport, it sits between the Ku-band LNB and the demodulator, using a synthesized local oscillator for accurate, stable frequency translation. These Comtech downconverters were widely used across commercial and government Ku-band ground stations and remain in service as spares for existing installations.
