EF-Data

EF Data designed and built satellite modems and earth station equipment from Tempe, Arizona, and was the larger of the two businesses when Comtech Telecommunications acquired it from Adaptive Broadband in July 2000. Comtech merged EF Data with its own subsidiary to form Comtech EF Data, which still trades under that name and later absorbed Radyne ComStream as well. EF-Data protection switches sit between a satellite modem and the RF chain, monitoring the active modem and switching traffic to a standby unit when it fails, so a link stays up without manual intervention. Tech-Star supplies new and refurbished EF-Data hardware including SMS-301 and SMS-451A one for one protection switches and SMS-7000 M:N protection switches for multi modem teleport and hub installations. Refurbished EF-Data hardware remains in demand because protection switches are replaced only on failure. Submit any EF-Data part number via the enquiry form for current pricing, condition information and availability.
