The Comtech UT-4514 is a Ku-band satellite upconverter from Comtech’s UT-4500 series, translating a standard IF input up to the extended Ku-band transmit range of 12.75-15.35GHz, covering standard, extended and military Ku-band allocations. It is built for rack mounting within the transmit RF chain of a satellite earth station, teleport or broadcast uplink facility, sitting between the modem/exciter and the high power amplifier, and uses a synthesized local oscillator for stable, low phase-noise frequency translation suited to high data rate carriers. Comtech’s UT-45xx series converters were widely deployed across commercial, government and military Ku-band ground stations and remain in service supporting legacy uplink chains.
