Radyne Comstream

Radyne was founded in Phoenix, Arizona in 1980 and became a leading supplier of satellite communications ground equipment. It acquired ComStream from Spar Aerospace in 1998, and the combined business traded as Radyne ComStream until it was renamed Radyne Corporation in 2005. Comtech Telecommunications acquired Radyne in 2008 and folded the satellite earth station range into Comtech EF Data in Tempe, Arizona. The Radyne ComStream range covers the frequency conversion and modulation stages of an earth station, translating between the intermediate frequencies used by modems and the C band and Ku band frequencies used on the satellite link. Tech-Star supplies new and refurbished Radyne ComStream hardware including SFC series synthesized C band and Ku band upconverters and downconverters and DM series digital satellite modulators. Refurbished Radyne ComStream hardware remains in demand for maintaining teleport and hub installations built around this generation of equipment.
