The Huawei TN11D4002 is a D40 40-channel demultiplexing board for the OptiX OSN 6800 and OSN 8800 WDM platforms, working the C-band odd wavelength grid from 196.05 THz on 100 GHz spacing.

The demultiplexer sits at the receive end of a DWDM line and does the reverse of the multiplexer: it takes the combined multiplex arriving on one fibre and separates it back into individual wavelengths, each of which is then handed to its own transponder or receiver. Forty channels on a 100 GHz grid was the standard C-band plan for this generation of equipment, and the odd and even variants are paired with each other so that an eighty channel system can be built from two of each interleaved.
