Huawei TN11M4002 Quidway/CX600 routing, S-series switching, OSN DWDM transmission Optical Transmission Module

The Huawei TN11M4002 is an M40 40-channel multiplexing board for the OptiX OSN 6800 and OSN 8800 WDM platforms, working the C-band odd wavelength grid from 196.05 THz on 100 GHz spacing. It is the transmit-side partner of the TN11D4002 demultiplexer on the same grid.

The multiplexer takes up to forty individual wavelengths, each arriving from its own transponder, and combines them onto a single fibre pair for transmission down the line. That combining is the whole point of a DWDM system: one fibre carries forty services where it would otherwise carry one, which is why these platforms are used where fibre is scarce or expensive to lay.

Odd and even grid boards are paired to build eighty channel systems by interleaving, and they are not interchangeable with each other. The board is passive, so it adds a fixed insertion loss that has to be accounted for in the link budget. Tech-Star is UK-based and ships worldwide.
