MRV EM800-MUX/DMUX: passive optical mux and demux module for the LambdaDriver LD800 chassis.

The MRV EM800-MUX/DMUX is a passive optical multiplexer and demultiplexer module for the LambdaDriver LD800 chassis. It combines several wavelengths onto one fibre pair in the transmit direction and separates them again on receive, so that a single duplex fibre can carry multiple independent services.

Being passive it needs no power and adds only insertion loss, which is why modules of this type are used at pass-through and remote sites where an amplifier or a managed shelf is not warranted. The LD800 is the eight-channel member of MRV’s LambdaDriver WDM family, with eleven general module slots and a reserved management slot. MRV Communications was taken over by ADVA Optical Networking in 2017. Tech-Star is UK-based and ships worldwide.
