MRV Communications supplied optical transport and network integration hardware, including the OptiSwitch family and a wide range of SFP, XFP and mux modules used across metro and access networks. ADVA Optical Networking acquired MRV in August 2017 and its optical transport lines continued under ADVA. Tech-Star supplies new and refurbished MRV hardware including OS900 series switches, EM800 and EM1600 chassis modules and MRV coded transceivers such as TM2-XFP and SFP-GD-ELX. Refurbished MRV equipment is in demand for the support of installed estates, where matching the original module coding is often the quickest route to a working spare.   • August 2017: ADVA Optical Networking completed its acquisition of MRV Communications.
  • July 2022: ADVA combined with ADTRAN under ADTRAN Holdings, and the ADVA product lines continue within that group.
