The Emulex LP850-EMC is a single port 1 Gbit/s Fibre Channel host bus adapter on a 64 bit, 33 MHz PCI interface, supplied in the EMC variant with EMC qualified firmware. It is a first generation LightPulse card from the era before PCI-X and PCI Express, so it is specified almost entirely as a replacement for servers that have not moved off their original platform.

The EMC firmware is what lets an EMC array and PowerPath treat it as a supported adapter rather than an unrecognised card. At 1 Gbit/s it will attach only to fabric switches that still offer a 1 Gbit/s negotiated rate, which not all later switches do, so check the switch as well as the server before ordering. Confirm the slot is conventional PCI rather than PCI-X. Refurbished.
