Enterasys RoamAbout wireless access point for centrally managed enterprise wireless LAN deployments.

The Enterasys 329901470522010C is a RoamAbout wireless access point, part of the RoamAbout wireless LAN range used for enterprise 802.11 coverage. RoamAbout access points were designed to be managed centrally rather than configured individually, working with a RoamAbout switch or management platform to handle roaming between access points, authentication against a RADIUS server and consistent security policy across a site. That central model is what distinguished the range from standalone access points of the period, and it is why units are usually encountered as part of an existing estate rather than deployed singly. The range originated with Digital Equipment Corporation before passing to Cabletron, which explains DEC markings on earlier units. Enterasys succeeded Cabletron Systems in 2001, and Extreme Networks acquired the portfolio in 2013. Tech-Star, UK-based and shipping worldwide, supplies RoamAbout wireless equipment for legacy wireless estate maintenance.
