Polycom 2201-15855-001 SoundStation/SoundPoint/VSX/HDX/CX conferencing Video & Audio Conferencing

The Polycom 2201-15855-001 is an extension microphone for the SoundStation conference phone range. The base unit covers a small meeting room on its own three microphones, but in a longer boardroom the far end of the table falls outside that pickup radius; a pair of extension microphones placed down the table restores even coverage so participants are not obliged to lean towards the console.

The microphone connects to the console on a dedicated cable and draws power from it, needing no separate supply, and it carries its own mute control. Extension microphones are matched to the console generation they were sold with, so it is worth confirming the console model before ordering. Polycom joined Plantronics in 2018, became Poly, and was acquired by Hewlett Packard in 2022. Tech-Star supplies from UK stock with worldwide despatch.
