MRV TM-DXFP16T: tunable 10 Gigabit DWDM transponder module for LambdaDriver, XFP access port, up to 160 km.

The MRV TM-DXFP16T is a tunable 10 Gigabit DWDM transponder module for the LambdaDriver chassis, with an XFP access port and a line reach of up to 160 km. Unlike the fixed wavelength modules in the same family, its line wavelength can be set across the ITU grid, so one part number covers any channel in the plan and a single spare can stand in for any position in the shelf.

That flexibility is why tunable transponders are usually specified for long spans and for shelves where holding a spare of every channel would be impractical. The 160 km rating puts it at the long end of the family, above the 40 km and 80 km modules. MRV Communications was acquired by ADVA Optical Networking in 2017.
