The Enterasys N7-SYSTEM-R is a Matrix N7 enterprise switch chassis bundle, supplied with a fan tray and two hot-swappable power supplies. It is the larger of the Matrix N-Series systems, offering seven expansion slots for Enterasys Matrix DFE-Gold, DFE-Platinum and DFE-Diamond series switch modules.

The N7 chassis is built around a fully meshed, point-to-point passive backplane, with interswitch links supporting 20 to 80 Gbps of switching capacity per link depending on the modules fitted. Power is supplied by 6C207-3 1600W supplies with dual front-panel AC inputs, and both the fan tray and power supplies are hot-swappable, which supports continued operation during maintenance.
